Connect TikTok to Redexa Social with a sandbox app
Create a TikTok developer app, add Login Kit and three read scopes, add yourself as a sandbox target user, then paste the client key and secret. Six steps.
Why a sandbox works
A TikTok app in sandbox mode can read the accounts added to it as target users. Adding your own account is what lets the app read your videos without waiting for TikTok’s review of a public app.
The scopes, and why only these
Enable user.info.basic, user.info.stats, video.list. All three are read-only: they let the dashboard read your profile, your stats and your video list. Without video.list the app tells you the permission is missing instead of showing empty charts.
After connecting
The latest 10 videos, with views, likes, comments and shares, appear after the next refresh and join your YouTube and Instagram figures in the Overview and Analytics.
Step by step
- Open the wizard. In Redexa Social open Link account › TikTok and press Connect it now to start the own-app guide.
- Create the app. Open the TikTok developer portal, sign in and register a new app. Give it a name and confirm.
- Enable login and permissions. Open Add products and add Login Kit. Among the scopes enable user.info.basic, user.info.stats, video.list.
- Create the sandbox. Open Sandbox and create one. Inside it, add your TikTok account as a target user.
- Paste the redirect address. In the Login Kit settings add the address the wizard shows to the Redirect URI entries and save. It is https://aurelioavila.github.io/social-dashboard/tiktok-callback.
- Copy the two credentials. Copy the sandbox Client key (it starts with sbaw) and Client secret into the wizard and press Save and connect.
