Three calls per channel, nothing more
Each refresh makes 3 YouTube Data API calls per connected channel: channels.list for the channel's subscriber count, total views and video count, playlistItems.list for the latest 10 uploads, and videos.list for the views, likes, comments, title and publish time of those uploads. A list call costs one quota unit, so a refresh costs 3 units per channel. The app refreshes when you press Refresh and once every 60 minutes while its window is visible, never in the background.
Read-only, and revocable
The only permission requested is youtube.readonly. There is no upload, edit, comment or delete code in the app. You can remove its access at any time from your Google account’s third-party access page; the data already collected stays on your PC.
Limits that come from YouTube, not from the app
The YouTube Data API rounds a channel’s subscriber count down to three significant figures, so a channel with 12,345 subscribers reads as 12,300 and a gain of a few dozen may not show. The video count includes public videos only, even for the channel owner. Since 24 August 2026 YouTube counts a view in viewCount as soon as a video starts playing, autoplay included. Redexa Social shows these numbers as YouTube returns them and does not adjust them.
What it deliberately does not read
Redexa Social does not use the YouTube Analytics API, so watch time, impressions, click-through rate, audience retention, traffic sources and revenue are not in the app. YouTube Studio remains the place for those reports; Redexa Social is for the weekly decision across your channels, with history, diagnostics and comparisons that Studio does not keep side by side.
Where the token is kept
The Google refresh token is stored in the app’s database on your PC and encrypted with Windows DPAPI in your user scope. That protects a copied database and other Windows accounts on the same machine; it does not protect against software already running as you.
